The Syrian Arab Army air defenses repelled an Israeli aggression with missiles on the vicinity of Damascus, and downed most of them, SANA news agency reported on Thursday.
The attack took place on Thursday at dawn, as a military source told SANA that “At about 01:38 am, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression with waves of missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan targeting some of the sites in the surroundings of Damascus."
The source added that the army air defenses intercepted the hostile missiles and downed most of them, noting that the aggression “caused the injury of four soldiers and some material damages.”
The last Israeli attack on Syria was on April 8th, when the Syrian air defenses responded to an air aggression with missiles from the direction of Lebanese territory targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus.
Meanwhile, Israeli military officials acknowledged the escalation of attacks inside Syria aimed at ending the entrenched Iranian military presence in Syria.
The IDF Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi said last year that his country’s missile strikes had “slowed the presence of Iran in Syria,” hitting more than 500 targets only in 2020.
