Syria, Turkey and Iran Agree with Russia's Road Map Concept

The Special Envoy of the Russian President for the Syrian settlement, Alexander Lavrentiev, announced on Thursday that Syria, Turkey, and Iran had agreed on the formula of the "road map" prepared by Russia for the urgent normalization of relations between Damascus and Ankara, Russia Today reported.

"All parties generally agreed on the formula of the road map to advance the normalization process and expressed their views and proposals, and now coordination must be made to implement this map," Lavrentiev said.

The Russian official added that this process will take some time, stressing that "the most important thing is that the process of normalization is moving forward...forward...it should not be procrastinated, and everyone agrees on that."

On Tuesday, the deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Syria, and Iran, at the 20th international meeting on Syria in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan discussed a roadmap for normalizing relations between Ankara and Damascus, combating terrorism and other issues.
