On Sunday, Seven workers picking truffle mushrooms were killed in war-torn Syria after their car hit a landmine, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
According to the Observatory, the explosion occurred in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor.
The Observatory, which is based in London, mentioned that since the beginning of January, a total of 137 civilians have been killed in landmine explosions in Syria, including 30 children.
Truffle pickers in Syria are particularly vulnerable to falling victim to landmines, as well as attacks by ISIS extremists, according to the Observatory in a report on Saturday.
Many people in Syria, who suffer from economic hardship, try to earn a living by searching for the prized truffle mushroom.
