Swvl Official Carrier for 2019 AFCON

The Organizing Committee of the Africa Cup of Nations announced on Tuesday that Swvl, LLC will be the official carrier for the upcoming tournament.

The committee made the announcement during a press conference in the presence of the Egyptian Football Association Vice President, Ahmed Shobeir, and the company's official.

"In Egypt, the fans still go to the stadium by car, and it is time to change this by providing convenient mass transportation which will facilitate fans' arrival to and from the stadium. That is the main reason why the committee made a contract with Swvl to be the official carrier of the AFCON," Committee director Mohamed Fadl said.

for his part, the company's operation manager Mahmoud Noah said there are four solutions provided by Swvl on a mobile application to facilitate fans' arrival to and from the stadium.

"In the application, you will find all the matches of the tournament, you can choose the game you want to attend. Then, you will find 600 lines inside Cairo that you can choose the best way to book a seat on a comfortable bus." Noah explained. "For group transport, you can book a bus," he noted.

"We also have transportation outside Cairo. The fourth solution is availability of minibuses. We offer buses at metro stations that take you directly into the stadium," the company's operation manager added.
