Switzerland has reaffirmed its readiness to host negotiations between the United States and Iran, offering a secure venue in the mountain resort of Bürgenstock for discussions aimed at implementing a recently signed memorandum of understanding.
In a statement, Swiss authorities said diplomatic efforts are continuing to preserve dialogue between the two sides, while declining to provide further details due to confidentiality requirements.
The talks were expected to follow the remote signing of a US-Iran agreement designed to end the military conflict that began in February and establish a framework for reopening navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
The memorandum also outlines a 60-day timeline for further negotiations, including discussions on Iran's nuclear program.
Swiss officials said representatives from the United States, Iran, and mediators from Qatar and Pakistan had been expected to meet in Bürgenstock, though those discussions have since been postponed.
