FBI Director Kash Patel announced Sunday that the bureau had received information about a terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, and was conducting a comprehensive investigation.

Patel did not provide further details, but said in a social media post, "Our agents and law enforcement are already on the scene and will share updates as soon as more information becomes available."

CBS News quoted witnesses at the scene as saying that a person attacked a group of people with Molotov cocktails during a solidarity march for Israeli prisoners held in Gaza at Boulder's Pearl Street Mall in Colorado.

The Boulder Police Department said it was responding to a report of an attack in the city that included multiple victims. It did not provide any further details.

The attack comes weeks after a Chicago-born man was arrested in the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C.

The incident has polarized the United States regarding the war in Gaza between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian protesters.
