A survey published by the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB), revealed that 87.3% of doctors in Brazil were infected with the Coronavirus (known also COVID-19), in the past two months due to the increase in cases caused by the variable expansion of the Omicron, according to the Venezuelan channel “Tele Sur”.
The survey also revealed that 51.1% of doctors in Brazil said they felt tired, and 42.7% said they were worried about the situation caused by the pandemic disaster in Brazil.
The recent increase in cases caused by the emergence and spread of a new strain of the Coronavirus has had consequences for the mental health of doctors; more than 51% agree that they are very afraid, believing that anything can affect their health and the health of patients.
Similarly, 62.7 percent of physicians considered their colleagues to be stressed, and about 64 percent believed they had excessive workloads.
One of the main problems cited by doctors in Brazil was staff shortages, a problem that was addressed by 44.8 percent of those surveyed.
Doctors criticized the actions of the Brazilian government in the face of the pandemic, specifically in following up cases and conducting tests, and the study was conducted between January 21 and 31.
