Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, held a meeting, Sunday, with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Egypt Mykola Nahorny.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of supplying strategic food commodities, developing the partnership in the field of storage and developing the internal trade system.
During the meeting, the Minister of Supply stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with the Ukrainian side, noting that Ukraine is a strategic partner for Egypt in securing the needs of basic food commodities such as grains and oils.
The Minister also stressed that Egypt is constantly seeking to diversify sources and origins of supply and improve storage efficiency to ensure the stability of the local market.
on his part, the ambassador stressed that Ukraine is looking forward to strengthening its partnership with Egypt, in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in developing the infrastructure of silos in Egypt, where opportunities for technical cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two countries were reviewed to improve the grain storage system and develop transportation and distribution mechanisms.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continuing communication and coordination between the two sides to implement future cooperation plans and achieve food security.
