For fifteen years, Supernatural has been a TV series mainstay, entertaining viewers around the globe for over 15 seasons and 327 episodes of angels, demons, and sibling antics.
The plot revolved around two brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) as they travel the country hunting demons, monsters, and other paranormal creatures.
The series is an American television show that was created by Eric Kripke. It debuted on September 13, 2005, on The WB, and subsequently became part of successor The CW's lineup.
The production was produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision. The series had been developed for nearly ten years by the series creator, Eric Kripke before he brought it to television.
With its eleventh season, the series became the longest-running American live-action fantasy TV series.

The series has also developed an expanded universe. Three six-issue comic book miniseries have been published by WildStorm, a company under the DC Comics umbrella.
"Supernatural: Origins" revolving around the early lives of John, Sam, and Dean Winchester, and how John became a hunter. "Supernatural: Rising Son, "a dysfunctional family story", which revolves around Dean as he begins following in his father's footsteps.
Kripke was heavily involved with the first series, but the writer's strike prevented him from doing so with Rising Son.
"Supernatural: Beginning's End", which revolves around the definitive events that led to Sam leaving his family for Stanford.
A fourth miniseries, Caledonia, named "Supernatural: The Dogs of Edinburgh in the UK", that revolved around Sam's trip to the United Kingdom during the Stanford years.
Several novels based on the series have also been published.

On January 31, 2019, The CW renewed the series for its fifteenth and final season, which consists of 20 episodes.
The series was originally supposed to finish filming back in April before production halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Andrew Dabb, an executive producer and writer on Supernatural, announced that the March 23 episode will be the last fresh original to air for some time.
“This will be our last episode for awhile,” Dabb wrote on Twitter.
"We have filmed through episode 18, however our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak. So, right now, the episodes can't be finished. However, have some special treats coming along the way-- to help us all get through this." he later clarified in another tweet.
Dabb noted that The CW and Warner Bros fully intend to return and finish the series, stressing that it is not a matter of "if", it is a matter of "when".

In August, Padalecki and Ackles were finally able to return to the Vancouver set to film the final two episodes left.
They began filming the series finale on August 28, and both took to social media to document the occasion.
The season is scheduled to resume airing on October 8, 2020, with the series finale set to air on November 19, 2020.
On the last day of filming, many members of the guest cast, writers, and producers have started sharing messages to mark the day.
