Sullivan Says US to Commit $55 Billion to Africa

Jake Sullivanan, the White House National Security Adviser, announced the United States' commitment to provide $55 billion to Africa over the next three years to address the fundamental challenges of our time, hours before the start of the US-Africa Summit in Washington, DC.

"Ambassador Johnny Carson will be appointed as the special representative to implement the US-Africa Leaders' Summi's outcomes," Sullivanan said, according to Today News Africa.

It is worth mentioing that, the 2nd “US-African” summit kicked off on Tuesday in Washington, in the presence of leaders from all over the African continent. 

The summit will last for 3 days, from December 13 to 15, 2022. US President Joe Biden invited 49 African heads of state.

The US excluded 4 countries currently suspended by the African Union (AU).
