The Suez Canal witnessed the crossing of the largest floating library "LOGOS HOPE", as part of the North Convoy coming from the Port of Port Said, and heading to the port of Aqaba in Jordan.

The floating library is the largest of its kind, consisting of nine floors and carrying more than 5,000 books in all fields, including scientific and cultural books, children's stories, and others.

The ship is 132.5 meters long, 21 meters wide, and has a draft of 16.5 feet. The ship raises the flag of Malta, and its total tonnage is 14,000 tons.

According to the protocol followed by the Suez Canal Authority in dealing with ships crossing the canal for the first time,Osama Rabie, the head of the authority, assigned Captain Haitham Ragab, “a guide in the authority,” to board the ship “LOGOS HOPE” and welcome its crew, and hand the ship’s captain a souvenir.

Rabie affirmed that the distinguished strategic location of the Suez Canal makes it a major destination for the passage of all types of ships of the global fleet, which presents promising opportunities for the growth of Egyptian port activities in the region and enhances the state's efforts.
