Suez Canal Economy Decides to Transform Industrial Zones into Integrated, Environmentally -friendly Cities

Walid Gamal El-Din, head of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal (GAEZSC), announced during the last meeting, the approval of the authority’s board of directors to add a package of new investment incentives for the region’s investors to enhance its competitiveness within its regional counterparts and attract more investments.

Gamal El-Din stressed that the administration of the GAEZSC plans to create new investment opportunities in the industrial and marine sectors, localize industries and technology through a system of integrated industrial clusters, create infrastructure for ports and industrial zones following international standards, and maximize the role of the GAEZSC as a global and pivotal logistical center in global supply chains.

The meeting of the board of directors of GAEZSC also discussed proposals to study the establishment of an offshore international financial center to attract institutions from all over the world, in addition to studying the transformation of integrated industrial zones into integrated industrial cities through the establishment of residential communities and the provision of public services and recreational means within the framework of an ecosystem and the development of plans to transform them into green cities.
