Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces announced their approval of a truce for 24 hours, starting this evening, Wednesday, until 6:00 pm tomorrow, Thursday.

In a statement on Twitter, the forces confirmed their full commitment to a complete ceasefire during the declared armistice.

Earlier today, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces exchanged accusations of violating the armistice that began yesterday evening.

The forces accused the army of moving military forces and armed groups from various cities to Khartoum, noting that the army launched attacks with heavy weapons on the locations of its forces, causing the death of civilians.

The forces added that the army continues to bombard residential gatherings, accusing the army of breaking the declared truce and continuing to launch attacks.

Rapid Support also pointed out that the army's attacks resulted in the death and injury of civilians and the destruction of hospitals.

On the other hand, the Sudanese army spokesperson confirmed that the Rapid Support Forces did not comply with the requirements of the armistice, indicating that the army continues to secure the general command building and perform its duties.

The spokesperson added that the Rapid Support Forces committed violations in Marawi and Khartoum North.

The violent clashes began in the capital a few hours after the 24-hour truce entered into force on Tuesday evening, while the two sides exchanged accusations and held responsibilities.
