The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan revealed the main reason behind signing the normalization deal with Israel.

In his word before the 'Israel summit' held via video-conference, Al-Burhan said that his government signed the "Ibrahim Accords" out of its firm belief in the importance of promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples of all religions and races.

He also added that Sudan signed the deal based on its sincere endeavor to affirm and establish the values of peace, tolerance, peaceful coexistence, respect for freedoms and religions, and acceptance of the other.

Al-Burhan underlined the key role of youth in building Sudan, adding that "his country is anticipating a new era of freedom, peace, and justice that will be built by youth and students."

"Israel Summit" is an international virtual event organized by Israeli students.

It is worth mentioning that, on October 23, 2020, Israel and Sudan agreed to normalize relations in an agreement brokered by the United States, making Sudan the third Arab country to establish relations with Israel within two months.
