The Sudan Doctors Network has announced the tragic killing of Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali Al-Siddiq, a prominent pediatrician at Nyala Teaching Hospital. According to official statements, Dr. Al-Siddiq was "liquidated" inside his home in the Al-Mazad neighborhood of Nyala, South Darfur, following a violent armed assault by members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The medical network revealed that RSF-affiliated militants carried out the execution after a brutal physical assault that left the doctor with fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene within his residence.

Despite the severe deterioration of security in Nyala, Dr. Al-Siddiq had remained steadfast in his humanitarian mission, providing medical care to children and patients under increasingly perilous conditions. The Sudan Doctors Network described the incident as a "horrific" crime that highlights a dangerous trend where medical professionals are becoming direct targets in the ongoing conflict.

"This incident reflects the escalating state of lawlessness and the transformation of medical staff into direct targets without any form of protection," the network stated. They further emphasized that this assassination is part of a series of repeated violations occurring across Darfur, fueled by a lack of accountability and international oversight.

The network has issued an urgent plea to the international community and human rights organizations, calling for immediate intervention to protect civilians and healthcare workers. They held the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible for the safety of civilians in the region, warning that the continued targeting of medical staff will lead to a total collapse of the humanitarian situation in Sudan.
