The Sudanese army has seized more than 150 combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers belonging to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during operations in Kordofan, according to Al Qahera News, citing its correspondent.

The report said government forces also captured large stockpiles of weapons and ammunition previously held by the RSF.

Military units are continuing sweeping operations across multiple fronts in Kordofan while pursuing remaining RSF fighters, the correspondent said.

In recent hours, the Sudanese army, backed by the Joint Force and allied units, announced that it had regained control of the towns of Bara, Al-Baraka, Umm Sayala, Umm Qarfa and Jabra Al-Sheikh following what were described as some of the fiercest battles in North Kordofan in recent months.

The Joint Force said the offensive was carried out in coordination with the Sudanese Armed Forces, the Qashan Force and other allied units. Field sources also reported the participation of the Sudan Shield Forces, led by Abu Aqla Keikel, in the fighting around Umm Sayala, a strategic location on the country's export route.

The Associated Press could not independently verify the battlefield claims made by the warring parties.
