Sudan stressed, on Wednesday, the need to reach a legal binding agreement on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) before the start of the second filling process of the dam next July.
This came during two separate meetings held by Sudanese Minister of Irrigation, Yasser Abbas, in his office with Morocco's ambassador to Khartoum, Mohamed Maa Al-Ainain, and Chinese ambassador (via videoconference), according to the official Sudanese News Agency (SUNA).
The two meetings dealt with the file of the GERD and the latest developments in negotiations of Sudan, Ethiopia, and Egypt.
During the meeting with the Chinese ambassador, the Sudanese Minister of Irrigation stressed the need to reach a binding legal deal on the Renaissance Dam before next July.
