Sudan Prepares to Export South's Oil after Repairing Key Pipeline

Sudan said it was ready to resume oil exports from landlocked South Sudan, suggesting a pipeline that had been out of service for eight months had been repaired.

The oil ministry of Sudan’s military-led government said in a statement on Sunday that all obstacles had been resolved and the pipeline was ready, but gave no date for resuming operations.

The pipeline across Sudan, which until recently carried more than 150,000 barrels of crude to Sudan’s Red Sea coast, stopped operating in February due to a blockage caused by a shortage of diesel needed to dilute the crude.
