At least 13 people, including eight children, were killed after a drone strike targeted a residential home in a neighborhood of El-Obeid city, according to the Sudan Doctors Network.

In a statement, the network said the attack was carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and struck a house in a densely populated area of the city, located in North Kordofan state.

The Sudan Doctors Network condemned the attack, describing it as a serious violation of international humanitarian law and warning of the increasing use of drones in residential areas, which has led to a rising number of civilian casualties.

Medical sources said several others were injured in the strike, though no immediate details were available regarding their conditions. Rescue efforts were reported to be ongoing amid limited medical resources and damage to nearby buildings.

El-Obeid has witnessed escalating violence in recent months as fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continues, forcing thousands of civilians to flee and placing severe strain on healthcare services.

There was no immediate comment from the Rapid Support Forces on the incident.
