The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on the international community to condemn what it described as heinous crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to a report by Cairo News Channel.
In a statement, the ministry accused the RSF of systematically targeting the destruction of the state’s infrastructure and essential service institutions. It specifically highlighted the recent attack on the Merowe Dam as a "complete act of terrorism" carried out by the RSF.
The ministry also revealed that drone strikes by the RSF caused widespread power outages across the country by targeting the Merowe Dam power station.
Sudan's Plea for International Action
The Sudanese government urged global powers and organizations to take a firm stance against the RSF’s actions, emphasizing the urgent need for accountability to prevent further destabilization and damage to critical infrastructure.
This escalation marks another chapter in Sudan’s ongoing conflict, which has severely impacted civilians and strained the nation’s already fragile systems.
