Spanish media reported on Monday that Barcelona's new head coach Ronald Koeman has told veteran forward Luis Suarez that he is out of his plans for the 2020/21 season.

According to Marca newspaper, Koeman told the Uruguayan veteran that he would not depend on him in the upcoming season.

"After having had a discussion with Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, Ronald Koeman has now spoken to Luis Suarez and has reportedly informed the Uruguayan veteran that he isn't counting on him for the 2020/21 season, Marca reported.

The Spanish newspaper added that the Dutch manager told Suarez in a phone call that he will be out of the club and the "plan now is very much to find a way to move him out of the club."

Suarez' contract will expire in the next season, but he has an option for a further season which will become active if he plays a certain number of matches in the 2020/21 campaign.

It is worth mentioning that Ajax has expressed their interest in signing the player if he leaves the Camp Nou.
