Heavy winds that hit the Czech Republic throughout the day and yesterday caused power outages for tens of thousands of citizens.

CEZ Energy, the largest electricity distributor in the Czech Republic, revealed several outages due to trees falling on power lines.

This was reported by Radio (Prague International) in its English edition today, Saturday.

The radio indicated that the region, "Moravian-Silesia," is the region most affected by the outages, pointing out that the regions of "Hradec Kralove" and "Central Bohemia," among other regions, were also affected.

On the twentieth of last December, the authorities in the Czech Republic issued a warning to citizens against the cold due to the significant drop in temperatures in several regions of the country.

The authorities warned citizens - according to Radio "Prague International" - of heavy snowfall, pointing to the accumulation of snow on several roads in the province of "Vysokina" and the city of "Olomouk", which led to a number of traffic accidents.
