 Strong Earthquake Hits Iran, Felt by Gulf, Pakistan, Afghanistan Residents

The   National Center of Meteorology in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on its account on Twitter that stations recorded a 6.3-magnitude earthquake on the Richer scale in the southern part of Iran today, Saturday.

At least five people were killed and dozens injured in the quake, with the area also hit soon afterward by two strong quakes of up to magnitude 6.3, according to the Al-Jazeera network,

The center's statement revealed that the earthquake was felt in different regions of the UAE,    Bahrain, Saudi Arabia,   Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, and Afghanistan.

It is worth noting that another strong earthquake measuring 4.1 degrees on the Richter scale hit the city of Rawar in Kerman Province (central Iran), in mid-May this year but there were no reports of any casualties.

The mayor of Rawar, Malik Ajdari, said that the earthquake that hit Rawar did not leave any losses.
