Severe storms and torrential rain caused widespread flooding and traffic disruption in Rome after a tornado swept through parts of the Italian capital.
According to Italian media reports, several districts, including Nomentano, Salario and Parioli, were hit by flash flooding, with streets submerged and traffic brought to a near standstill. Rising water levels also left some vehicles at risk of being swept away or submerged.
The extreme weather extended beyond Rome, affecting several regions across Italy. Thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and flooding were reported in Friuli, Tuscany and Lazio, prompting authorities to monitor conditions closely and implement precautionary measures.
Emergency services remained on alert as Italy faced another round of severe weather disruptions.
