The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not given up his desire to control all of Ukraine.
Stoltenberg warns that the war is likely to continue for months or even years.
"We have to be realistic," Stoltenberg said, before the meeting of NATO foreign ministers. The war may go on for a long time; months or even years.
He stressed that the alliance has to be prepared for a long path; in terms of providing support to Ukraine, maintaining sanctions, and strengthening its defenses.
The Secretary-General of NATO said that the organization is looking forward to additional support from member states to provide more weapons and military equipment to Ukraine.
