The Israel Army announced an expansion of its military operations in southern Lebanon, saying the campaign aims to secure key crossings along the Litani River.
In a statement, the Israeli military said its forces had advanced up to 14 kilometers into Lebanese territory, targeting infrastructure it claims is used by Hezbollah to move between northern and southern areas.
The army also said it had killed around 40 Hezbollah fighters, reportedly identified and tracked by Israeli Air Force aircraft during movements in areas where Israeli troops are operating. The claims could not be independently verified.
Meanwhile, they carried out recent strikes on facilities allegedly used to finance Iran-backed groups, including locations described as hubs for financial and administrative operations.
According to the Israeli military spokesperson, the recent strikes had also targeted mobile headquarters linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its ground forces, claiming that more than 80% of Iran’s military capabilities and related infrastructure had been destroyed—an assertion that has not been independently confirmed.
On the political front, Israel Katz issued a warning to Naim Qassem, saying any attacks launched from Lebanon during the Passover would come at a “heavy price.”
The developments come amid escalating cross-border tensions, raising concerns about the risk of a broader regional confrontation.
