Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi has arrived Thursday at the headquarters of Zamalek Club to meet with members of the transitional committee headed by Counselor Ahmed Bakri.
The meeting deals with matters related to Zamalek club in the coming period, after the temporary committee took over the club's affairs, according to Zamalek's official website.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports referred on Sunday the financial irregularities stated in the report submitted by the committee that examined the files of Zamalek Club and the violations it contained to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry also decided to suspend and exclude the Zamalek Club Board of Directors, the Executive Director and the Financial Director from managing the club’s affairs on a temporary basis, until the conclusion of the Public Prosecution investigations, or until the legal period prescribed by law for the Board of Directors expires, whichever is earlier.
It also assigned the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Giza as the competent authority to overlook Zamalek Club alongside forming a temporary committee to manage the club’s affairs.
