Sports Min.: Fans Could Return to Stadiums in Spain this Season

Spain's Sports and Youth minister Irene Lozano revealed on Saturday that fans could be allowed to attend La Liga's matches this season.

Fans were banned from attending the games because of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic across the world.

In an interview with Sports.es, the Spanish minister noted that the possibility of fans' attendance to the games became very strong, especially this season.

"We are in the middle of the coronavirus' second wave, and we have hundreds of death cases every day, so we need to adhere to all the precautionary measures," Lozano said.

"We can see fans returning to stadiums once again, but till the current time, there are no official decisions regarding this matter. Everything depends on the discovery of the vaccine," the minister clarified.

She moved to talk about Barcelona presidential elections, stressing that elections must be run in a normal way.

"I am convinced that the chairman, who will win this race, will have a great sports project," the minister pointed out.

"Barcelona are a very important club in Spain and the whole world. We must wait to know who will be the new president at the earliest time.," she concluded.
