An international flight carrying 176 people operated by Nesma Airlines arrived at the Sphinx International Airport on Monday from the Spanish capital Madrid.
Following the completion of development work aimed at enhancing the airport's capabilities to service tourism in the Giza and pyramids regions and promote day tourism, international flights began to operate at Sphinx Airport.
Due to its close vicinity to places like Giza, which is home to some of the largest structures in Egypt, the Sphinx Airport saw extraordinary success in a short period of time.
EgyptAir's domestic flights used the airport for a 15-day pilot programme after its January 2019 opening. In January 2020, Fly Jordan launched its first international service to the country.
