Spain's King Felipe VI started his 10-day self-quarantine on Monday after coming in contact with a person who later tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Royal House.
The source added that the king (52 years) has canceled his participation in public events during the quarantine period after the person tested positive on Monday, a day after they were in close contact.
Felipe VI had chaired a scientific meeting in Madrid earlier on Monday.
Moreover, the source added that Queen Letizia and their two daughters will continue their royal activities.
It is worth mentioning that, Spain has so far registered more than 1.58 million cases of COVID-19 and 43131 deaths, since the start of the pandemic.
