Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares announced on Wednesday that Spain will increase its humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories by €4 million this year, bringing the total to €21 million.
Speaking before the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Albares made this announcement following what he described as his government's "shock" at the explosion at a Gaza hospital that resulted in hundreds of casualties.
Albares emphasized, "Aid must reach the civilian population in Gaza, and Spain is ready and committed to participating."
He noted that additional packages would follow, as everything indicates the need for more assistance.
This comes at a time when Israeli aggression continues in Gaza and the occupied territories, resulting in hundreds of casualties and thousands of injuries among Palestinians, along with extensive damage to their homes, properties, and both public and private institutions.
