On Saturday, Spain extended a 10-day quarantine imposed on arrivals from six countries in Africa and Latin America that were greatly affected by Covid-19.
The Ministry of Health announced the procedure, noting that passengers arriving in Madrid from South Africa, Namibia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Colombia must self-quarantine for 10 days.
These six countries are considered "high risk" because of the high rate of coronavirus cases. The virus has so far killed more than 82,000 people in Spain, where 4.5 million people have also been infected.
More than sixty percent of the population is now fully vaccinated against the epidemic.
The country recorded about 4,588,132 coronavirus cases, more than three million people have recovered, and 82,006 have died.
On the other hand, Johns Hopkins University announced on Saturday that 201.8 million people were infected with Coronavirus worldwide.
