Sources revealed on Tuesday that US President Joe Biden is trying to avoid providing support to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the elections, through the upcoming phone call between them.
Sources belonging to two Israeli parties and in contact with officials in the US administration said that the US president is trying to reduce the impact of his expected phone call with Netanyahu in order to avoid helping him ahead of the Knesset elections scheduled next March 23.
The sources indicated that the Biden administration is concerned over giving the impression that it is interfering in the upcoming elections, and that Netanyahu will seek to use the phone call to achieve electoral gains, according to the "Jerusalem Post" newspaper.
