The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is currently studying the prospect of allowing fans to attend the pure Egyptian CAF Champions League final between Al Ahly and Zamalek.
A source inside the CAF said that there is a strong desire from the federation officials to allow fans to attend this encounter, according to the Egyptian website Yallakora.
The unnamed source said: “We are studying the attendance of the fans for the CAF Champions League final. This is what is currently going on in the CAF,"
"From my point of view, CAF is heading in this direction and has a desire for the presence of fans, but the number will be limited and perhaps very limited. Things are still unclear about this matter." the source added.
Zamalek had booked their qualification card for the Champions League final on Wednesday evening, by beating Morocco's Raja with an aggregate score of 4-1, days after Al Ahly settled his qualifying card at the expense of Moroccan Wydad with a total score of 5-1 in the 1st and 2nd legs.
The grand finale is scheduled to take place on November 27 at the Borg-Al Arab Stadium, after it was scheduled for November 6 at Cairo Stadium.
CAF decided to change the final match's date after consultations with the Egyptian authorities, according to an official statement in the past days.
This is the first time in history that Zamalek clash with Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League final.
