Soprano Amira Selim Releases “Merutek" in Ancient Egyptian Language

The Egyptian international soprano Amira Selim released her new songMerutek” meaning “Your Love”, in the ancient Egyptian language, on the first day of the new year 2023, bringing together all the feelings of love and brotherhood between Egyptians.

Selim said that the song is a lyrical improvisation from the Chester Beatty Papyri on Bach's Prelude,.

She added, "The song is a dedication to the Egyptians and to the history of our ancestors, confirming that my message of reviving the ancient Egyptian language continues, with my insistence on presenting art that reaches every Egyptian."

"The video clip will be out soon," she pointed out.

The song was recorded with Egyptian harpist Mona Wasef, and the distinguished sound engineer Mufdi Thabet. I am proud that it is considered the first romantic song in the ancient Egyptian language.

Concerning her participation in the experience of the Nefertiti Museum in the way of metaverse, she said, "It is my first experience, and the truth is that I am happy to participate in it because I discovered that it is a magical and dazzling world of art."

“I was happy when the team asked me to extend the time frame of the song in the Nefertiti Hall of metaverse until December 31; to experience this wonderful adventure.”

She added, "I hope that it will be the beginning of other different and varied experiences and a window through which every person can discover more and enjoy arts, while developing positive social communication."
