Sony Pictures released Monday a new trailer for Tom Hardy’s "Venom: Let There By Carnage".

The footage showed the origins of the movie's villain Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who plays host for the symbiote Carnage, which was introduced in a post-credits sequence at the end of the original Venom movie.

It also featured the appearance of Cletus’ love interest Shriek, played by Bond star Naomie Harris.

Andy Serkis directed the follow-up from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel and a story by Marcel and Hardy.

The Columbia Pictures movie, in association with Marvel and Tencent Pictures, also stars Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Stephen Graham. It is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.

The movie also features Williams reprising her role as Anne, Brock’s former fiancée.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is set to release on Sept. 24, 2021.

The sequel was originally scheduled to be released in October 2020 but was postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, most recently getting pushed back one week from Sept. 17 to Sept. 24.
