The son of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich was reportedly injured while participating in Israel’s ongoing military operations in Lebanon, according to Israeli media outlets citing unnamed sources.

The reports, cited by regional broadcaster Al Qahera News, said Smotrich’s son sustained injuries during the operation, though details about the extent of the wounds or the circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been officially confirmed.

The reported injury comes amid intensifying clashes between Israeli forces and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, as cross-border hostilities continue to expand.

Earlier on Friday, Hezbollah issued a warning to Israeli residents living in towns located within five kilometers of the Lebanese border, urging them to evacuate the area.

In a message published in Hebrew on its Telegram channel, the group said Israel’s military actions against Lebanese sovereignty and civilian infrastructure would not go unanswered.

Hezbollah also claimed responsibility for a series of retaliatory strikes against Israeli military positions.

According to the statement, the group targeted the newly established “Balat” military site in southern Lebanon using attack drones, claiming direct hits on the facility. It also said it launched a rocket barrage at the Zariit military barracks, describing the attack as retaliation for Israeli strikes inside Lebanese territory.

The developments highlight the growing volatility along the Israel–Lebanon frontier, where exchanges of fire have increased in frequency in recent days, raising concerns about the potential for a wider regional escalation.

So far, Israeli authorities have not publicly commented on the reported injury of Smotrich’s son or provided further details about the ongoing military operations in Lebanon.
