Somalia expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to the countries and regional and international bodies that stood responsibly by Somalia's sovereignty and national unity, contributing to thwarting Israel's attempts to recognize the so-called "Somaliland" administration.
The Somali Presidency stated, in a communique reported by the Somali National News Agency on Thursday, that this responsible international stance embodies the international community's commitment to the principles of international law and the UN Charter, particularly the respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs.
Moreover, the statement emphasized that the Federal Government, acting on its constitutional responsibility, gives top priority to strengthening the country's unity and protecting its territorial integrity.
It also noted that the government has taken a series of political, legal, and diplomatic steps aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty and consolidating the principle of a single state.
Furthermore, Mogadishu stressed that any attempts to undermine Somalia's unity or deal with secessionist entities outside the state framework constitute a flagrant violation of international law and a threat to regional stability, asserting its categorical rejection of any such moves.
Additionally, Somali government renewed its commitment to continue working with its regional and international partners to enhance security and stability in the Horn of Africa, pushing toward peaceful solutions that preserve the country's unity and meet the aspirations of the Somali people for peace and development.
The statement concluded by reaffirming that Somalia's unity and sovereignty are a "red line" and non-negotiable, calling on the international community to continue supporting this position to contribute to the consolidation of regional peace and stability.
