The Somali Minister of Information said today, Tuesday, that his country has cut ties with its neighbor, Kenya, due to its interference in the political affairs of Somalia, in an escalation of a dispute that took place last month when Somalia summoned its ambassador from Nairobi.
Osman Abukar Dubbe said that his country will withdraw all its diplomats from Kenya and has ordered Kenyan diplomats to leave the country within 7 days.
Last month, Somalia expelled the Kenyan ambassador and recalled its ambassador from Nairobi after he accused Kenya of interfering in the electoral process in Jubbaland, one of Somalia's five semi-independent states.
