The Somali army announced the killing of about 100 terrorists and the wounding of dozens of terrorist militants on Friday, after it responded to a surprise attack against the city of "Galad" in the Galgudud governorate, in the state of Galmudug, in central Somalia.
The Somali News Agency quoted officials as saying that the military operation followed a surprise attack by terrorist elements against the city of Galad, while the army responded to the attack and inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist elements and confiscated military equipment for them.
The Somali officials said that seven soldiers, including an officer, were killed during the military operation against the terrorist elements.
The city of "Galad" is among the three strategic cities that the Somali army regained at the beginning of this week from the hands of the terrorists linked to the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
