US Military Kills 30 Members of Somali al-Shabaab Terrorist Movement Mogadishu

The US military announced that more than 30 members of the Somali al-Shabaab terrorist movement were killed in an airstrike carried out on Friday, about 260 kilometers northeast of Mogadishu near Galkad.

Also, the Somali National Army forces engaged in fierce fighting following a complex, extended and intense attack by more than 100 Al-Shabaab fighters.

According to a US military statement, it is estimated that the joint actions carried out by the forces resulted in the destruction of three vehicles and the killing of nearly thirty terrorists from Al-Shabaab.

On the other hand, the Somali News Agency reported that the Somali army, in cooperation with the local forces, managed to restore the "Janai Abdallah" area, 60 km west of the city of "Kismayo", the temporary headquarters of the regional state of Jubaland.

Officers of the national army reported that the armed forces retook the area without confrontations, as members of the terrorist militia linked to al-Qaeda fled, hours before the army and the Dervish forces of the Jubaland regional government arrived.
