On Monday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud at Ittihadiya Palace, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The Somali president was accorded a red-carpet reception upon his arrival at the palace and the national anthems of both countries were played.
The two presidents reviewed the guards of honor.

The Somali president arrived in Cairo on Sunday evening on an official visit to Egypt.
The visit is Mohamud’s seventh foreign trip since he returned to power in May after winning the Horn of African country’s presidential election.
According to Somalia’s presidency, Mohamud and El-Sisi are scheduled to hold bilateral talks focused on strengthening Somali-Egyptian relations, economic ties, security, and education cooperation between their two countries.
The Somali president returned to Mogadishu on Saturday after completing a two-day visit to Tanzania where he attended the 22nd Ordinary Summit of the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State as a special guest.
