This cooperation aims to eliminate threats and stabilize not only Somalia but the entire region. President Mohamud expressed profound gratitude towards the U.S. government for its support.
The joint operation by Somali Federal Government forces and American troops targeted top leaders and members of ISIS in the Ali Maskad mountains, Bari region, Puntland state.
In a statement released by the Somali News Agency, President Mohamud emphasized that targeting key figures in this war enhances the commitment of both Somalia and the United States to secure and stabilize the region, preventing the spread of extremist groups and saving innocent lives.
The Somali government, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information, welcomed the efforts and strong commitment of the United States in fighting terrorism, affirming its dedication to continue collaborating with international partners against the threat of terrorism.
The government also confirmed its ongoing cooperation with the United States to dismantle extremist networks, strengthen security operations, and build a future free from terrorism, noting that the United States is a valued ally in ensuring the security of their country and looking forward to continued cooperation on regional peace and security matters.
