In a targeted operation in the Mukeyle region, situated west of the buloburde district in the Hiiraan zone, the Commandos of the Somali National Army neutralized 25 Al-Shabaab fighters, leaving several wounded.
Reports from the Somali National News Agency (SONNA) confirmed that the military also dismantled the operational networks of the militants near the Bula-burte town.
In a related event last month, Somali troops eradicated 100 members affiliated with the extremist group connected to Al-Qaeda.
Abdulrahman Yusuf Al-Adala, Somalia's Deputy Information Minister, remarked, "In a collaborative military endeavor, 100 fighters, inclusive of notable leaders from the Al-Khawarij militias allied with Al-Qaeda, were eliminated."
This joint venture involved both the national military and global allies, focusing on the frontier that divides the central territories of Shabelle and Middle Juba.
Al-Adala further highlighted that this mission resulted in the obliteration of 14 militant vehicles and a key base used for their congregations, inflicting substantial damage on the extremist faction.
