Somali FM Commends Egypt's Support for Somalia's Sovereignty, Unity

Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Madobe Fiqi, affirmed Somalia's commitment to all agreements signed with Egypt, expressing gratitude to the Egyptian government and people for their recent support during critical times affecting Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking at a press conference with his Egyptian counterpart in the New Administrative Capital, Fiqi stated, "Egypt has played a historic role in Somalia's journey toward liberation and independence. Egypt's support has been pivotal in helping Somalia maintain its unity and territorial integrity, marking a distinguished role in the phases of building the Somali state."

Fiqi added, "The region is witnessing unprecedented crises and challenges at various levels. Egypt's historic role in Somalia's liberation and independence journey cannot be overlooked." He highlighted discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty on shared perspectives regarding these regional challenges.

Somali FM also emphasized that Egypt's stance was instrumental in the signing of the Ankara Declaration, which ensures Somalia's unity and sovereignty.
