Ali Abdi Aware, Somali Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, received today Mohamed Samir, Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister and Permanent Representative of Egypt to the Arab League, at the Somali Embassy headquarters in Cairo.
The two ambassadors explored avenues to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations.
Aware expressed his profound gratitude for Egypt’s steadfast support for the independence, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, emphasizing his country’s pride in the deep-rooted and strategic fraternal ties.
He further lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting Somalia at both the Arab and international levels.
Somali Ambassador also conveyed Somalia’s aspirations to continue enhancing cooperation and joint coordination, while intensifying bilateral and multilateral efforts to serve mutual interests, bolster regional security and stability, and support Arab unity in facing current challenges.
For his part, Samir reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering stance in support of Somalia.
He stressed that Egypt’s mission to the Arab League continues to provide full support to its Somali counterpart, reflecting the depth of the brotherly bonds between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed ways to develop and enhance joint Arab action to meet the aspirations of Arab nations and strengthen their collective capacity to address shared challenges.
