Sohag Folk Art Thrills Audience in Bulgaria

According to the nomination of Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, Sohag Folklore Troupe, affiliated to the General organization of Culture Palaces, headed by Dr. Ahmed Awwad, participated in the activities of the International folklore festival in Veliko Tranovo, Bulgaria.

It is one of the oldest and most traditional artistic festival; it presented many performances, reflecting the distinctive character of the heritage.

The ceremony was attended by Hisham Attouh, Vice-Head of the organization, Moayad El-Dalyi, Ambassador of Egypt in Sofia and a large number of Egyptian diplomats and Arab communities in Bulgaria.

Abdel-Dayem said that the Egyptian creative presence on the map of international culture highlights Egypt artistic cultural leadership.

She noted that the participation of Sohag Folklore Troupe in Valleco Tranovo is a sign of the special status of Egyptian arts and culture in the heart of the world.

She stressed the role of soft power in building bridges of communication with the peoples of the earth.

It is worthy of note that Sohag Folklore Troupe has impressed the public from various nationalities. As a result, the festival organizers decided to present additional performances for the Troupe in many Bulgarian cities where the Troupe's members were given certificates of appreciation.
