Snow, Cold Waves to Struck Japan's Earthquake-Impacted Areas

Japanese authorities issued a warning for Sea of Japan surrounded areas citizens, including the areas that were struck by the 7.6-magnitude earthquake early this year.

Officials said that up to 80 centimeters of snow is expected in the 24 hours. The cold mass could cause more damages to homes and roads.

The earthquake has left more than 31,500 homes completely or partially destroyed, according to Kyodo News Agency.

Citing local authorities, the agency reported that the largest number of damaged homes was recorded in the residential areas of Nanao and Noto. The total count of destroyed homes reached 31,670.

In the city of Wajima, where "various damages" had been previously reported, 870 homes were affected to varying degrees.
