The Slovenian government has decided to allocate €500,000 in financial support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), announced on Friday.
According to a statement by the Slovenian Foreign Ministry, shared on Twitter (X), this financial contribution responds to the call from UN Secretary-General António Guterres for donor countries to ensure the continuity of the most significant humanitarian organization's operations in Gaza.
The statement further detailed that the government has decided to provide material assistance to the Palestinian civilian population in the form of food supplies and shelter equipment via Jordan.
It emphasized that humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza was among the topics discussed by Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi during his recent visit to Ljubljana.
