On Saturday, Slovakia announced the imposition of a ban on the import of Ukrainian grains and other agricultural products until the end of the year.

In a statement released by the Slovak Cabinet, it was stated, "The Slovak government has extended the ban on importing wheat, corn, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds from Ukraine until the end of this year," as reported by the Russian news agency Novosti.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki had declared that authorities would extend the ban on grain imports from Ukraine as of midnight on September 16, despite the European Commission's decision to lift the ban.

Hungary has also imposed a ban on importing several goods from Ukraine, including grains.

The bans imposed by these Central European nations reflect their concerns and response to the ongoing geopolitical situation, particularly the conflict in Ukraine, which has led to restrictions on agricultural imports from the region.
